Too cold to head to the gym? I know it is here! We’ve got negative degree weather out here in Denver so it’s pretty darn cold! I’m not sure why we couldn’t get a work day considering all the kids got a school day 🙂
These are the times that I love working out at home. As soon as I get off work I can head home and not have to bundle up to get over to the gym. Then once you get to the gym you have to practically undress, go sweat for a bit then put all that back on and head out in the cold again and drive home. Who wants to do that when they can just work out at home. I like the fact that I can take breaks too. If the work out is too intense I can pause, catch my breath, get a drink of water and then pick back up where I left off. I started working out from home a couple of years ago. I can’t ever see myself going back to a gym except maybe to teach classes but I will still do my work outs at home. I see gym memberships as a waste of money, personally. This is only because I worked out for years and years at gyms and always looked the same and it’s because I was doing the same workouts over and over again. Very rarely would I change it up because honestly, when I got to the gym I just wanted to get it over with. I didn’t want to think about it. With the programs I use at home, I almost feel as though I have a personal trainer telling me what to do. With every program I bought I have a meal plan, calendar of workouts, recipe book, a book describing what each work out is all about, etc. So basically the plan has been all mapped out for me and it’s my responsibility to hold myself accountable for putting in everything I have and get the job done! There are a variety of workouts from beginner, intermediate and advanced. From cardio, weight lifting, yoga, strength training, you name it! It’s whatever works best for you and where you are at in your fitness journey and what your goals are. Coaches (like myself) just point you in the right direction and follow-up to make sure you are getting the results that you strive so hard to get.
